Seeking the Flourishing of Afghans in Iowa

 In Telling a Better Story

The recent crisis in Afghanistan forced thousands of Afghans to flee their home and search for peace and safety in other countries, like the U.S. Since then, many people around the country have chosen to welcome and walk alongside their new Afghan neighbors to help them settle into their new homes. In this radio interview, Jason Lief talks about the work he has been doing in Iowa to advocate for an Afghan Adjustment Act, which would create a path toward permanent status for Afghan refugees, as well as the work he has been involved in to help Afghans flourish in their communities. Jason encourages listeners to choose proximity and enter a posture of humility and learning as he discusses the clear calling Christians have to care for the vulnerable.
