ICYMI: ADS Offer Prayer and Encouragement as GOP Addresses Immigration Reform
WASHINGTON, D.C., JANUARY 30, 2014 — Today the Evangelical Immigration Table launched ads on conservative websites such as Townhall and RedState, as well as Christian websites, offering prayer for Congress and for immigration reform. The five-figure buy coincides with the House Republican retreat, at which they are expected to announce principles for reform. The ads will appear for about a week.
As noted in Politico this morning, “The ads read simply: ‘Praying for Congress. Praying for Immigration Reform.’ They are part of a broader reform push from the evangelical group that includes a nationwide grass-roots lobbying effort,” as well as other ads including Wednesday’s full-page USA Today ad.
“Hopefully, it encourages the many members who are serious about immigration reform that evangelicals will stand behind them when they take the steps necessary to move the process forward,” Galen Carey, vice president of government relations for the National Association of Evangelicals, told Politico. “We’ve been working on this for a long time.”
